A five-day event bringing you the most cutting edge environmental films and documentaries.

The first Festival achieved tremendous success, and has gained great momentum for its second year. During last year’s event, we hosted a private reception and screening of My Father, The Captain: My Life with Jacques Cousteau to members of the Society of Environmental Journalists and the world-famous Cousteau family. In addition, we hosted a student film competition in partnership with the Big Blue & You Foundation.

Similar environmental film festivals launched throughout the US, like the Wild and Scenic Film Festival in California and the DC Environmental Film festival, have generated a significant following and level of attention within the filmmaking and environmental community.  Our vision is for the MBEFF is to become the premier event and forum for the exchange of innovative ideas amongst directors, producers, scientists, non-profit organizations, policy makers, businesses, government and our local community.

The Festival’s goal is to create a highly recognized annual event in South Florida, which will educate, motivate, and inspire attendees through films addressing contemporary environmental issues.
