Raising the Bar

 An ECOMB Initiative – the Environmental Coalition of Miami & the Beaches

Raising the Bar is a new, unique recycling initiative for bars, restaurants and lounges in Miami Beach and Miami. The initiative is an educational campaign that promotes recycling at local establishments.

Participating establishments receive free pick-up of recyclables for a period of one month by our program partners listed below (see attached Program Components & Agreement). In addition to the pick-up of recyclables, ECOMB provides an on-site orientation for the venue’s staff and assists in the implementation of the program.

Raising the Bar was the brainstorm of a University of Miami medical student who is passionate about recycling. The Initiative was originally launched through a small pilot project, which was phenomenally successful. ECOMB has now formally launched the program and is offering local establishments a chance to participate.

As a reward to participants, ECOMB also offers free marketing and promotion of all venues through our print, web and social gatherings, all geared towards creating a greener community. A Raising The Bar sticker will also be provided to participating establishments, making it easier for consumers to choose places that recycle.
