ECOMB’s tremendous success is due to the enthusiastic participation of literally thousands of volunteers, active sponsorship by businesses and civic groups, direct involvement by local government and media support. To date, ECOMB’s total yearly budget has not exceeded $10,000, and over 90% of funds are used for costs directly related to events. Monetarily, ECOMB relies on grant funding, tax deductible donations from individuals and businesses (event sponsors), and from ECOMB advertising specialty item sales.

ECOMB has been recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt organization under section 501 c (3) of the federal tax code.
