Some of ECOMB's annual events, include:

  • Baynanza Biscayne Bay Cleanup;Florida Coastal Clean-Up Day, an annual multiple site cleanup that is part of the International Coastal Clean-Up Day.

  • Arbor Day Event. In 1998, ECOMB spearheaded, organized and produced this annual event which has been included in the City of Miami Beach application to be recognized as a "Tree City USA." The City of Miami Beach Mayor and Commissioners now recognize Arbor Day as an annual event.

ECOMB is credited for initiating the following joint projects:

  • Through a partnership with Florida International University's students, native plant species were reintroduced to the dune habitats along Miami Beach's shores. This project was eventually taken over and expanded by the City of Miami Beach.

  • ECOMB has also sponsored students' research projects, from local universities and colleges, on local environmental issues such as mangrove rehabilitation and the identification of exotic plant species.

The organization has also been recognized for addressing a diverse number of environmental issues such as:

  • Promoting "smart buildings" in the residential and commercial Miami-Dade real estate market;

  • Addressing the lack of trash receptacles in Miami Beach neighborhoods;

  • Proposing a plastic straw ban on city beaches ("Ban The Straw" campaign).

ECOMB's efforts do not end there. ECOMB also sponsors and organizes underwater cleanups and dune restoration projects. And, for the upcoming year, ECOMB plans to launch new educational campaigns about recycling awareness, litter prevention and habitat restoration.
